<p>And now for something completely different! - "The Poison Squad" - Today, in The Twenty First Century, The American Public can go to grocery stores and a variety of specialty purveyors to purchase food, secure in the knowledge that the quality and safety of the products they consume meet high standards of health and nutrition. A short one hundred years ago this was hardly the case. Food was routinely adulterated and often contained additives that were injurious to one's health. In a time before health standards were acknowledged and observed, without consistent regulation or regulatory bodies like the FDA, American citizens literally took their lives in their hands with every mouthful they consumed. This is the story of how this occurred, and more importantly, how it changed.</p>
<p>This is our monthly discussion meeting, held at 2:30 PM on the first Saturday of each month.</p>
<p>We have returned to holding these in-person in the Social Hall at USNH. There's plenty of room for social distancing.</p>
