<p>With the rise of The MAGA right and Christian Nationalism, attacks on what the public may read are increasing at an alarming rate. Starting with book bannings in public school libraries, largely aimed at LGBTQ and Black Cultures, the attacks are quickly moving to encompass Public Libraries and books that are perceived to be wider threats to right wing and religious ideology, such as Orwell's "1984". The implications of this thrust are undeniable. This film, based on the 1966 the story by Ray Bradbury, brings an allegorical perspective to the issues at hand with prescient clarity. Directed by Francois Truffaut, it starrs Oskar Werner and Julie Christie. A lively discussion will follow the presentation.</p>
