<p>You've heard of the Hubble Space Telescope and you've heard of the James Webb Space Telescope, but have you heard of the Roman Space Telescope? This third telescope, scheduled to launch in October of 2026, will transform the way we do astronomical research yet again. We will replay a public lecture which was recorded live on Thursday, June 22, 2023, which will introduce you to the telescope's namesake and explain what this telescope will do for astronomical research. This is a lecture of the Space Telescope Science Institute which performs the science operations for Hubble and leads the science and mission operations for the James Webb Space Telescope.</p>

<p>Join us as we welcome back secular writer and cultural commentator Tom Krattenmaker. In this talk, he will will explore hope, where it comes from, and why it's so important to find.</p>
<p>A former Board member of the Yale Humanist Community, Tom Krattenmaker is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated author and columnist specializing in religion, values, and secularity in public life. His book <em>Confessions of a Secular Jesus Follower</em> was named one of the top two religion books of 2016 by the Religion News Association. He currently writes for the new online magazine <em>OnlySky.</em></p>
<p>We will start with half an hour of coffee and conversation at 6:30 PM, followed by the main program after brief announcements at 7:00 PM.</p>
