especially since Sunday will probably be spent waiting around with

Carol,
I thought you might like to know that Doug was taken to Hartford Hospital on Christmas Eve afternoon.  He appears to have had a slight stroke.  He is in good spirits, good cognitive ability, with just  slightly slurred speech.  He will stay until at least Monday, when he will be sedated for an MRI and other tests.  
Perhaps you can tell this to his other Humanist friends who might want to know as well.
