Hello Everyone,

This month's Conversations will take a look at a few short videos about topics of concern.  It might be said there's no end in sight of topics of interest  to Humanists; so, I guess, we'll never run out of things to converse about.  Over the last several years Conversations has taken on the format of viewing a video or film that offers a focus that enables everyone to talk about the same thing.  I hope that anyone who sees something of special interest will bring it to our attention.  You can email me at the address
 below.

Now to substance. 1) A debate sponsored by Intelligence Squared on whether the world would be better off without religion.  We'll take a look at the arguments by two speakers on each side of the proposition.   2) "Thinking Our Way Out of Extinction," from a conference called the Nantucket Project, , bright and knowledgeble people talking about what they think and know.  3) "Is Darwin the Father of Economics," a segment from the PBS News Hour.  You may have read the email from M.Ratafia bringing this bit to all our attentions.

Cynthia Harvey
