Hello Everyone,

This
Saturday's meeting of HAC Conversations will view one or perhaps two
short videos about a movement that began in the north England town of
Todmorden. according to this report a spontaneous peoples effort
seeking answers to a question framed by the speaker in this video
Pam Warhurst, "I wondered
if it was possible ... to re-engage people with the planet we live
on, create the sort of shifts in behaviour we need to live within the
resources we have, stop us thinking like disempowered victims and to
start taking responsibility for our own futures."

“We
started with the question, “Can we find a unifying language that
cuts across age and income and culture that will help people
themselves find a new way of living? Todmorden, England dedicated to
growing food locally by planting on unused land throughout the
community, see spaces around them differently, think about the
resource they use differently, interact differently? …. And
then can we replicate those actions?”

is humanism? Life in
this world is the central and defining focus of humanism. We envision
a world in which every individual's worth is respected, and human
freedom and behaving responsibly are natural aspirations.
