For those who are interested in the monthly USNH Cinema, it will be shown
tonight as the first Friday of April. The following announcement describes
the event:

This month's Humanist Cinema will be held this Friday, April 4, at the usual
times. A catered dinner of pasta, salad, and cookies (not a potluck!) will
be served at 6:30, and the film showing will start at 7:00.

This month's schedule will be a little different. USNH is experimenting
with a quarterly "Community Build," and this evening will be "CB2." The
idea is to have the meal in the Social Hall, followed by parallel activities
in separate spaces for adults (including parents) and children. The Cinema
will be held in the Children's Chapel at the far end of the upper hall, with
the children's activities in the Social Hall.

The Cinema selection this month will feature a ghastly environmental
documentary filmed in West Virginia. Remember the recent news stories of
flooding with serious water contamination? Well, that was just the tiny tip
of a very large iceberg: The film "Mountain Top Removal," shows the
leveling of entire mountains over a vast area of the state, with everything
that was not coal (such as high concentrations of many toxic--e.g.,
cancer-causing--metals) being flushed into the surrounding inhabited
valleys, homes, school buildings, etc, with all the predictable consequences
for health and well-being. There appears to be no attempt by government to
regulate this nightmare. Very little of this ever reached the mass media!
Every citizen needs to see this criminal activity. Try to come if you can.
Discussion follows.
