One of the most notorious newspaper columnists was gossip columnist, Walter Winchell. He successfully made the transition to radio, and then television. The impact he had on news reporting foresaw the birth and rise of right wing talk radio and operations such as Fox News and the disinformation outlets that cloud our understanding of the world and society today. He was a strong advocate of the McCarthy Era. This documentary on him provides a chilling picture of the world he was instrumental in creating.
